The engine of your Cadillac powers more than just the wheels. Your Alternator Stops Working
When any of the parts that depend on your belt begin to malfunction, you should always check the betl itself. One key skill in the art of diagnosing engine trouble is knowing how all the parts interdepend upon each other. For instance, if your car won’t start, then perhaps your battery has died. If a jump start won’t then keep the car running, your alternator has most likely stopped working.
When functioning well, the alternator uses the serpentine belt to transmit engine power to your battery, keeping it fully charged, and so one common reason for a faulty alternator is a loosened, slipped, or broken serpentine belt.
