1. Wetlands Course
The Wetlands Course is a public course located about three miles from the center of Lafayette. It offers 18 holes of challenging but fair play for all levels of players, and the scenery provides plenty to enjoy on your round. The scenery includes many trees, which provide both obstacles as well as beauty while you navigate through them.
One other thing that makes this one-of-a-kind course so special is the three ponds strategically placed throughout it; they’re there to offer scenic views or hazards depending on where you find yourself. 2. Jay & Lionel Hebert Municipal Course
The Jay & Lionel Hebert Municipal Course is an 18-hole layout that features rolling hills and doglegs that are challenging to golfers, both left-handed and right-handed. Also, be prepared to encounter water hazards surrounding the entire layout. There are ponds throughout this municipal level course, which can be very difficult for players if they don’t manage their approach shots carefully.
Golfers who play this layout will enjoy its trees lining every fairway, which create plenty of difficult shots in addition to those provided by water hazards.
3. Oakbourne Country Club
The Oakbourne Country Club is a beautiful course with lush green pastures that act as the perfect backdrop to 18 challenging holes on this ground. The club features two practice facilities: an indoor facility that overlooks the first nine holes and an outdoor range where you can work on your game any season, thanks to Louisiana’s mild climate all year round.

4. Farm D’Allie Golf Club
The Farm D’Allie Golf Club is a public course that features an 18-hole championship layout with rolling hills and expansive natural terrain. It also has excellent viewing areas of the Bayou Teche from elevated tees. It also offers a variety of amenities, including cart rental, snacks, drinks, and much more!
The greens are large and well maintained, which can make for some less than perfect shots. It is also challenging to keep your ball on the fairway due to water hazards that come into play as soon as you are farther from the tee box. But if you have a good game plan in mind before hitting off, it shouldn’t be too much of an issue.
