With summer right around the corner, it’s time to spruce up your Instagram with some new photos. Lafayette definitely has some great photo-worthy tourist spots, but with a car, your options improve a bit. Here are four excellent photo spots all within driving distance of Lafayette, LA.

Four Excellent Photo Spots You’ll Need a Car to See in Lafayette, LA

Snap a Shot at the Welcome Sign on Your Way in

If you are just visiting Lafayette, then there’s no photo more classic than one by the welcome sign. And even if you already live here, it’s a great coming home picture as your return from your journeys elsewhere. Get a wide-angle shot of the road as you and your friends pose beneath the classic “Bienvenue A Lafayatte’s” impressionist artwork.

Located at 1400 NW Evangeline Trwy, this also happens to be the entrance to the nearby boardwalk and swamp. Add your brand-new Cadillac CT4 to the shot and show it off in all its roadworthy glory.

Make Some Noise at the Triangle (The T’Fer)

If there’s one thing Cajuns are known for more than their food or their language, it’s their music. It’s only fitting that they devote a statue to the humble Little Triangle, or T’Fer as the Cajuns might say. If you plan on hearing some Zydeco music during your time in Lafayette, this is an excellent photo to go along with that.

If you visited the welcome sign, then you were already here. Little Triangle is an additional landmark in the boardwalk and swamp.

Get an Architecture Shot with the Main Street Fountain at River Ranch

River Ranch is one of the top tourist destinations for visitors to Lafayette, a place filled with shops and restaurants. While you are there, drop by the Main Street fountain for a photo that features old French Louisiana architecture in the background.

Some photo stops charge you for the privilege, but here you know that your money is going to a good cause. All coins tossed in the fountain go straight to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. You’ll find this photoshoot and more at La Promenade.

An Alternative to the Welcome Sign: the Lafayette Sign

Maybe the welcome sign wasn’t quite your fancy. If you want something a little different, consider the big-lettered Lafayette sign. It’s featured artwork changes from year to year thanks to local artists, so update your Instagram gallery each time you spot a new design. This spot is at 201 E Vermilion Street, but will won’t work so well if you go alone. You and/or your friends will need to pose as the middle “Y” in “Lafayette.”
