3 Tips for Taking Care of Your Cadillac's Interior

While it’s very important to wash, wax, and care for the outside of your car, it’s just as important to give it some interior car care. As your Cadillac dealer, we want to tell you about some easy tips to keep your Cadillac’s interior looking great.

3 Tips for Good Interior Car Care by Your Cadillac Dealer

Dump the Trash

Let’s face it. We’re all guilty at one time or another of leaving things in the car with the intention of “taking care of it later.” Over time, it’s amazing how many items can build up in your car’s interior. Old food wrappers, odd pieces of paper with notes on them, pet toys, kid’s toys, and a host of other items will find an unintended home in your Cadillac.

Luckily, this problem has a quick and easy fix. Take two bags, one for items to keep and the other for trash. Open all the doors and start collecting the items that don’t belong and put them in the relevant bag. Once you’ve finished, your interior will look better already. Now, you just have to dump the trash bag in the can and return all the items to their relevant owners.

Dust and Vacuum

No one likes dust, but it’s a fact that dust and dirt will find their way into your Cadillac. Dust can cause allergies, and a dusty interior develops an unpleasant smell. Before dealing with the dust, make sure you have microfiber clothes or soft cotton rags to get rid of that dust. These two materials are gentle on your Cadillac’s interior and will prevent any scratches.

Thoroughly dust the interior, including the instrument panel, infotainment screens, and any other areas that collect dust. Once you’ve dusted, carefully clean all the surfaces with antiseptic wipes and allow them to dry thoroughly. The final step is to grab your vacuum and remove any remaining dust. Your Cadillac’s interior now has a fresh and clean smell.

Clean Seats and Carpets

The dust has gone, but your seats and carpets need care too. Once again, you’ll need those microfiber cloths or cotton rags. If your seats are leather, you’ll need a high-quality leather polish. Carefully polish the leather to protect its sheen and keep it supple. If your interior is cloth, a good quality upholstery cleaner will do the job.

A good-quality carpet cleaner will be needed for your carpets. Once the carpets are clean, it’s important to ensure they’re completely dry. This prevents the weird smell of wet carpet and protects against mold.
