What's Covered Under an Extended Warranty on a New Cadillac?

Your Cadillac is not only an exceptional vehicle, it also has exceptional warranty coverage. Every new Cadillac has a warranty, and you can enhance this protection by choosing an extended warranty plan. As your Cadillac dealer, we want to give you more details about the choices you have and how they can protect your investment in your car.

Advice From Your Cadillac Dealer: What Does Your Extended Warranty Cover?

Extending Your Warranty

A new Cadillac has a four-year or 50,000-mile warranty that protects all its components against any repairs necessary due to defects in material or workmanship. This warranty doesn’t cover situations like normal wear and tear, for example, tire abrasion. It also doesn’t cover damage due to accidents or insufficient maintenance.

A warranty extension takes effect from the moment your standard warranty expires. Depending on the plan and the options you choose, coverage is available for up to eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever happens first. There are three extension plans you can choose from. We’ll now have a look at each plan and what they cover.

Powertrain Plan

This plan covers your engine, transmission, and drive axles. It also covers hybrid/electric components if you have a Cadillac with a hybrid system. All the systems protected by this warranty are specified in the agreement. Items that are not specified are not covered by this warranty.

Silver Plan

This plan includes everything covered in the powertrain plan and covers numerous additional components. Your electrical system, brakes, front suspension, rear suspension, climate control, and steering are all protected by this warranty. Once again, all items are protected by the plan as specified in the agreement.

Platinum Plan

As the ultimate coverage level, the platinum plan covers all your Cadillac’s components except for those that are specifically excluded. Additional systems covered by this plan include your audio system, navigation system, and all high-tech systems. Items that are excluded include radiator hoses, brake pads, and lights.

Additional Extension Benefits

All three plans have the same benefits to provide you with even more peace of mind. The benefits below are available for the duration of your chosen plan.

Diagnostics

All diagnostic expenses incurred during the repair of a warranty-covered component are covered.

Fluid Changes

All fluid changes that must be replaced as part of the repair of a warranty-covered component are covered.

Rental Car Coverage

You will be reimbursed up to a pre-determined amount for rental car hire for up to ten days if you can’t drive your car due to a damaged warranty-covered component.

Assistance is available 24 hours a day year-round. Expert technicians are available to provide towing, battery service, or roadside repairs.
