The release of the 2020 Cadillac XT6 is highly anticipated due to its exciting new features. You have two trim levels to choose from, depending on whether you want a luxurious version or a sporty trim level. Here are the main differences between them to help you decide which one you should purchase.
Performance
The Sport and Premium Luxury trim levels both have the same transmission and engine. However, the Premium Luxury model has a front-wheel-drive system and an on-demand all-wheel-drive system that saves fuel by decoupling the back wheels from the driveline. The Sport has all-wheel-drive as the standard option and has the identical torque-vectoring back axle that’s found in the GMC Acadia. The Sport model also has a faster steering ratio. Both trim levels have a 3.6-liter V-6 engine with up to 271 pound-feet of torque and 310 horsepower.
Exterior
The Sport trim level is darker than the Premium Luxury model of the 2020 Cadillac XT6 and has tinted taillights and headlights. Both trim levels come with 20-inch wheels, but the Sport can have 21-inch wheels added instead. A Platinum package is offered for both trims, which add interior appointments and other additional features.
Interior
No matter which trim level you choose, you have authentic and premium materials to choose from to make your ride a luxurious experience. You can choose from metallic, carbon fiber, real wood, and premium leather finishes, depending on what look and feel you want in your vehicle. All three rows also have the option of Opus Semi-Aniline Leather, which is finely crafted.
Safety
When it comes to safety, the Sport and Premium Luxury models have the same features. Forward-collision warning lets you know when the vehicle detects an oncoming crash ahead due to the speed of your car. If you don’t react quickly enough, the car will automatically apply the brakes to help reduce the impact. Parking and getting out of spots has never been easier, thanks to the front and back parking sensors.
You’ll be able to view the back of your vehicle on a screen in the front seat of your car so you can see objects that are in your way. Lines even appear on the screen to let you know how much you need to turn to get out without hitting anything. Blind-spot monitoring tells you when there’s another vehicle in your blind spot if you signal that you are about to change lanes, which helps to reduce the chance of an accident. Adaptive cruise control automatically adjusts the speed of your vehicle when cruise control is on based on the speed of the cars around you so you don’t have to keep changing your speed.
