car tool kit can have just the basic items or a wide range of tools for every occasion. The contents of an individual tool kit depend very much on the driver. There are some things that every driver should have. As your Cadillac dealer, we’d like to give you some tips on some essential items you should always have available.

Advice From Your Cadillac Dealer: 4 Items You Should Have in Your Car Tool Kit

Jumper Cables

It’s unlikely that your Cadillac will ever have a dead battery. A regular service schedule and battery test should keep your battery in good condition until it needs replacement. Not every driver, unfortunately, has a Cadillac with its advanced warning systems. If you have a set of jumper cables, you’ll be able to help a friend or other driver if a dead battery has left them stranded.

When you choose jumper cables, it’s best to choose heavy-duty cables with a good gauge. It’s also important to choose cables that can swiftly provide a charge to a dead battery. The cables you buy should be as long as possible. You may have a situation where you have to park behind another car, and the cables need to stretch to the front of the other car.

Flashlight

It can be easy to forget, but not all problems happen on a bright sunny day. You could face the prospect of changing a tire on a deserted road at night. We advise choosing a durable flashlight, preferably one with a hanging attachment or the ability to bend. This is particularly helpful if you need both hands free, and can attach your flashlight to something.

Adjustable Wrench Set

Many items on any car are installed with nuts and bolts. Sometimes a problem can be temporarily fixed by being able to tighten a loose bolt. It’s not a permanent solution, but it will allow you to continue your journey, and then visit our service department. Our technicians will then be able to permanently fix the problem for you. We advise choosing a wrench set with easy-grip handles that has all the standard-size wrenches.

Tire Sealant

A puncture can happen at any time, particularly if you’re driving over rough terrain or country roads. As an alternative to replacing your tire with the spare, you can quickly get on the road again using tire sealant.

This liquid is pumped into your tire when you depress the plunger on the can and rapidly reinflates your tire. Your tire will still need repair or replacement, but it will get you where you need to go.
