2023 Cadillac Lyriq

The 2023 Lyriq comes in one well-equipped trim level called the Luxury. It has 20-inch wheels, LED exterior lighting with startup animation, a heated windshield, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and heated and power-folding side exterior mirrors. It also has a hands-free liftgate and a fixed-glass panoramic sunroof. You can upgrade to 22-inch wheels and choose from several exterior colors, including Opulent Blue Metallic, Chrystal White Tricoat, and Stellar Black Metallic.

Power for the Lyriq comes from one electric motor that drives the rear wheels. A 110-kWh battery pack keeps the motor charged, and the two combine to generate 340 horsepower. Cadillac built the Lyriq on the new Ultium battery platform, which allows designers to configure the batteries in different ways to maximize space and stability. Cadillac also plans to release a Lyriq with two motors. It will have all-wheel drive and is expected to generate 500 horsepower.

The Lyriq provides a smooth and composed ride. It has one layer of batteries, making it feel stable and well-connected to the road. The low weight provides a well-balanced ride for confidence when taking tight corners. The driving experience is enhanced by three driving modes that adjust the steering, braking, and throttle response. For the most fun behind the wheel, choose the Sport mode. It accelerates quickly and has heavier steering.

Inside, the Lyriq has two rows of seats and room for five. Because it doesn't have a transmission tunnel, the cabin is open and spacious. It comes standard with dual-zone automatic climate control, a heated power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, simulated leather upholstery, and power-adjustable front seats. It also has heated and ventilated front seats and a reclining back row. You'll get all the technology features you can imagine in the Lyriq. It has a 33-inch touch-screen infotainment and instrument display. Google built-in comes standard, and it has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The voice recognition system uses natural voice to make it easy to speak commands, and it has three USB-C ports in the front and two USB-C ports in the back. A 19-speaker stereo system is another standard feature.

The Lyriq has a long list of standard driver aids. It comes with adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic braking, a blind-spot intervention system, rear cross-traffic alert, and a surround-view camera. Other safety systems include an automated parking system that will steer the Lyriq into a parking spot with almost no help from the driver, and it has a rear seat reminder that prompts the driver to check the back seat for children and pets before leaving the car. Later in the model year, Cadillac will add Super Cruise hands-free driving to the Lyriq. This is an enhanced version of adaptive cruise control.
