2021 Cadillac Escalade
The 2021 Cadillac Escalade boasts an all-new design, which includes a new independent rear suspension and a roomier interior. In addition, this SUV offers a new class-exclusive diesel engine option and state-of-the-art technology.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The exterior design of the new Escalade includes massive 3-foot LED taillamps and re-imagined horizontal headlamps with ornate details around the headlamp housing. The SUV is available in five trim levels, namely the Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury Platinum, and Sport Platinum. In addition, you can also opt for an available Escalade ESV model, which provides an extended wheelbase.
The base trim features impressive standard equipment, which includes power-folding and heated mirrors with turn-signal indicators, roof rails, 22-inch alloy wheels, and LED headlights and taillights. The trim also offers rain-sensing wipers, illuminating door handles, and a hands-free liftgate. With the Premium Luxury trim, you'll get a panoramic sunroof, while the Sport trim features gloss-black exterior accents and a V-Series-inspired blacked-out grille. The Premium Luxury trim boasts a chrome exterior trim and a unique Platinum Galvano grille, while the Sport Platinum features the same gloss-black exterior accents as the Sport trim.
Engine (Power)
The standard engine is a 6.2-liter V-8, which works together with a 10-speed automatic transmission to generate 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. New for this model year is an optional turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel engine, which also pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission and produces 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard, with four-wheel drive optional.
Performance
The new standard independent rear suspension of the Escalade provides improved ride quality and steering response, as it allows each wheel to perform independently. In addition, the Escalade also offers available systems, such as an electronic limited-slip differential that automatically provides increased traction when needed. For the ultimate smooth and responsive ride, opt for the available Magnetic Ride Control system, which reads the road up to 1,000 times per second.
Interior
The newly designed cabin of the 2021 Escalade is spacious and provides comfortable seating for up to eight passengers. In addition, the cabin is contemporary and equipped with state-of-the-art features such as an industry-first 38-inch OLED driver display. This display includes a 16.9-inch infotainment system, which is equipped with impressive standard features such as an AKG 19-speaker sound system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and a 4G LTE hot spot.
The base trim includes many other convenient features, such as leatherette upholstery, tri-zone automatic climate control, memory settings, heated front and rear outboard seats, and a heated steering wheel. Higher trims add nice-to-haves such as ventilated front seats, a rear entertainment system, a head-up display, and leather upholstery.
Safety Features
Standard safety and driver-assist systems offered with the Escalade include an HD surround-vision camera, forward-collision alert, and front and rear parking sensors. Higher trims add many advanced driver-assist systems. These include lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, enhanced parking assist, and enhanced automatic emergency braking. You can also opt for an available Super Cruise system, which is the first-ever hands-free driver-assist feature in the automotive industry.
